THE KING & CARDI B

In what ALTERNATE UNIVERSE can you find Jonathan Groff’s King George III and Cardi B existing in the same space? Ummm…your planner. Your planner is that alternate universe.

I know what you’re thinking: AWESOME. WOW. (a little Hamilton joke there.) But, it is AWESOME, and the star power on this spread makes me say WOW. I just love it!

This is the week of Labor Day (worse stupid friggin’ holiday) so naturally my “I wish I had more vacation days” sticker was used. I like the soft pinks & subtle reds used on these pages - with the POPS of black & white that played off The King’s fur and Cardi’s shirt.

Teachers (that’s me) go back to school on the 8th. First day. No students, but back in the building that we haven’t worked in since March. So when you ask à la The King: WHY SO SAD? …now you know. I couldn’t think of a more appropriate expression and sticker than that one right there.

I also love including that tongue-out Cardi with the big and bold millennial pink OKURRR because that’s also how I feel this week going back to the shitshow that is teaching during a pandemic: nutty, a little manic, with a side order of delirious. Kind of how you feel when you’re over-tired …which us teachers are DEFINITELY going to be when we can sleep from safety insecurity and not knowing what our job is from one day to the next. Good times. OKURRR?!
