THURSDAY THREE

#Thursday3 is a hashtag created by my friend and co-host Kristin Tweedale to document your ‘right now’ whatever it may look like. Kristin's #Thursday3 weekly selfie challenge calls you to: (1) take + post a photo of yourself on Instagram, (2) share three 'right now' things going on in your world , and (3) tag three of your friends to do the same. // Here’s the podcast episode about it.

LIFE UPDATE // SUMMER 2020 | Amanda Zampelli

Here are my three…

  1. Mama and Papa are headed to The Hamptons this weekend. We’re leaving tonight and coming back Sunday and plan to pool, beach, watch the Mets, drink, cook, relax, and just spend time together. We’ve had an emotional week, and I feel like we both need this weekend away. This will be my fourth trip to his family’s house out east, but my first one being able to dip in their backyard pool! // see 1st trip | 2nd trip | 3rd trip

  2. Yes, we call each other “Mama” and “Papa”. It’s mainly for the cats since Alejandro is “brother” and Carmen is ”sissy” when we talk to them, about them, whatever. We’ve assumed the roles, and that is that (although I’m pretty sure Tom doesn’t want to be ‘Papa’ to our future children. Dad’ll do).

  3. As previously mentioned, we’ve both been having an emotional week. I am learning, however, that the act of scrubbing my pots and pans has a calming effect on me. Whenever I am nervous, it manifests in my hands, and I think it’s the intense scrubbing - metal sponge on metal pan - coupled with the warm, running water that does the trick. Who would have thunk, since the dishes are, like, my MOST despised chore?! I’m starting to realize why my anxious mother and grandmothers might have subconsciously gravitated towards that job at family gatherings all these years…hmmm…
