INTRODUCING FUN FRIDAY.

FUN FRIDAY | Amanda Zampelli

It was really nice to share why I chose FUN as my one little word® for 2021, and I decided to do something concrete to embrace the word this year (inspired by elise joy circa 10 years ago duh). So every Friday from now until the start of 2022, I'll share something fun that happened the week before. Something that just felt good. Something that made me happy. Something light, something easy. Something big or small. Something friggin’ FUN.

I'm hoping that looking for fun in my daily life will help keep me open to the positive in a year that will mostly likely continue to be a tough, uncertain time to be alive. I also think that searching for fun breeds fun. So the more I celebrate it, the more I am likely to find.

That all being said, let’s begin.

New Year’s Eve. It was still so fun to set up the metallic backdrop and big ‘2021’ balloons even though no one was going to see them other than Tom and I. It was fun to get dressed up and take some photos in front of it, and jazz up the smooch shot with photo editing apps (1 & 2) to include in the #ZampRowNYE hashtag. It’s also fun to watch the cats give the balloons distrusting side-eye whenever they blow in a breeze or when they pass them to get food. Haa haa!

Mini Dance Party. We actually took our New Year’s Eve kiss photo on New Year’s Eve Eve, but we had a mini house music dance party on actual New Year’s Eve while I was making dinner. This WAP remix is so much fun (though NOT for kids), and I’m listening on loop to the chorus of this Alesso/OneRepublic remix.

The perfect French mani. Welcome to my new obsession: Red Aspen PRESS ON NAILS like you used to apply when you were a kid. These were the perfect shape, the price was right, and it took me all of ten minutes to apply without sitting through the hours it takes the nail tech at a salon. I can’t stop staring at my hands!

My new Makin Bacon tray. Everyone (cats included) in my home loves bacon! I even documented it in my December Daily. I was on the hunt for a new bacon tray and came across an invention called Makin Bacon where you hang your bacon out to dry and the fat drips into the tray below. I tried it for the first time this week, and it was a lot of fun! …and made delicious bacon without the mess!

…and that wraps up the first FUN FRIDAY of the year! Thanks for visiting, and I’ll see you next week! Cheers to 2021 and have a happy wekeend!
