a mile a day in May

a mile a day in MAY | Amanda Zampelli

A couple of years ago, I tried my hand at designing some IG story templates to go along with a movement challenge I wanted to try called a mile a day in May.

May’s longer days, warmer weather, and promise of my favorite season of summer to come always made it a good time to attempt something like this, however with the season of life and state of the world we’re in, it might be one of those good distractions we all need right now.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

1. Starting May 1st, carve out out time each day to walk/jog/run/bike/dance/move for at least a mile (or 30 minutes).

2. Use the various templates I’ve designed to record your month of movement in your IG story so you can keep yourself accountable & your friends can cheer you on. (the templates can be screen shot from my MILE A DAY Instagram highlight) .

3. If you DO decide to post anything to your IG feed, please tag me and include the hashtag #amileadayinMay. I’d love for us to keep each other motivated and accountable, and love to see how everyone spends their ‘miles’.

This was an easy challenge to bring back because all of the graphics I designed are pretty timeless, aside from the May calendar below — which I did alter to fit this year’s May.

I’ve already been trying to exercise for 30 minutes a day as a part of my 100 Days challenge, but it has been much harder than I thought. Perhaps this IG-template-communal-effort type format will give me the boost I need.

Also… I want to take a minute to shout out Candi Billman who played along with these templates a couple of years ago and kept the momentum going for herself so much so that she transformed her body and lifestyle! She recently tagged me about a mile a day in May, and inspired me to bring it back! Thanks, Candi! xo

Oh! and this too: Katy Weade over at Motherhood Aligned is also hosting a mile a day in May challenge and you can sign up with her to receive a free tracker! Super cool, Katy!
